Day 14 After a night of thunder and lightening storms we had a very early start to our last day as we had to be up and out by 6.15, through the panic of getting ready Stephanie managed to use the men's toilet terrifying a man in the early hours of the morning. At the train station we ate an early breakfast of Swiss McDonald's enjoyed on the floor of the station before heading onto train 1 of the day ending up in 1st class and headlining some stunning views. During our stop in the Geneva station Izzy was listening to the song turn around, at the chorus she did in-fact turn around and almost fell face first into a bin. While on the train to Paris some girls snuck down to first class and had a chat to the conductor and we met a young French boyscout and his dad who wanted to know all about our trip, we exchanged a trip badge with him for his blanket. When in Paris we headed to the metro then 2 of the 3 train groups met for a delicious lunch in a French cafe, carbonara, toasties, o...

Day 13 Our Chalet: After waking up to an amazing view of mountains at Our Chalet, we went to get breakfast and go to the gift shop and we were allowed to get one item of clothing each. Yay! Unfortunately there was limited sizes of the blue hoodies (only XS) which was really upsetting but they was variety of different sizes in the pink. There was also a lot of rugby shirts and t-shirt options etc. So luckily everyone was able to find something that they liked. We then took a photo with everyone in their new clothes. Photo of the view of the mountains   Group photo with tops and hoodies from the shop We then got into our official uniform for the pinning ceremony. We first had split into two lines a walked around in a circle meeting at the flag pole. We then got given our pins and we sung the Our Chalet song. We then decided as a group to sing Thunderation to the staff who were doing the pinning ceremony, some didn’t know Thunderation much to the surprise of the rest of the group. Ph...

Day 12 After waking up to a freezing cold room at 5.20, the 19 bleary-eyed Rangers and Leaders headed for Florence station. We were all excited to leave the heat, and get to Our Chalet. We boarded the train, but only to discover that the carriage had no aircon. We were going to move, thanks to a lovely conductor, but half of us were asleep and recovering from our early start! Unfortunately, the train was delayed but luckily the time was made up and we arrived at the Milan station on time.  When the platform was announced for the next train, to Zurich, we all raced to be the first on. However, there was a lot of confusion as there were two carriage 7s. After putting the bags up and taking them down a few times, we squeezed our way through some slightly confused passengers whilst politely screaming at them to move. When we finally got off the train we ran up the platform to the other carriage 7. The conductor did not seem best pleased. After a very eventful start, we found our seats ...

Day 11 After not much sleep on the overnight train and being woken up by a man with bread rolls and one less drink than originally ordered, we arrived in Venice before getting a very subdued train to Florence. Where we boiled in the 40 degree heat, dropped our bags and made our way to the hop on hop off bus which was very hot. We hopped off at stopped 10 and walked straight in the wrong direction but found a souvenir shop anyway. We reached a square with lots of markets and found a chicken place to eat (very authentic). We then visited another souvenir shop where me, Saffron, Ellie, Izzy and Leah bought matching tops and a lovely lady gave us discounts, free fruitellas and showed us where to get the best ice cream (it was closed). Then we went to nominations and I bought an authentic Italian charm bracelet.  Next we checked out the river and took lots of photos and tried out the gelato (which was unforgettable).  We got out of the heat, and into a bus which took us all around ...

Day 10 We started off as usual with breakfast at the hostel and afterwards we each got a badge and a group photo with the group of Girl Guides from North East England who are also Interrailing around Europe.  Izzy discovered on the tram that she'd left her phone at the hostel that we had checked out of and she isn't sure where it was left which we have now been back to and found. Afterwards, we went to a chocolate making workshop and museum where we all got to make 3 chocolate bars and choose what to put on them and what flavour. We also made an Aztec hot chocolate which had chilli and cinnamon in. We went to a spa for the afternoon to have some chill time and cool off in the 32° heat, which had lots of different pools and water slides for everyone to enjoy as well as sun beds for those who wanted to just lay down and read or have a sleep. On the way back, Saskia and Lilien decided that they had enough of us all today and did not get off the train when they were meant to, so we...

Day 9 Started off at 7:30 and had a varied breakfast before walking to the station.  Vienna is filled with beautiful buildings and many swifties. This walk to the train station had many choruses of ‘Vienna’ by Billy Joel. The spanish riding was gorgeous and inspiration for many photos.  We watched the classic viennese horses as well as having the honour of watching some beautiful grey from elsewhere.  Both the horses and the architecture were stunning.  After this we walked to the museum of illusions which was very busy, like the beautiful main city streets. The museum was filled with really cool but trippy illusions, like this one modelled by Steph and Tilly.  This kaleidoscope illusion was really cool (modelled by Tilly) The museum was also very aesthetic leading to plenty of cute pictures for the blog.  This illusion made Tilly look even shorter than she already was which was previously thought impossible. After this we enjoyed Starbucks, a McDonald...
